Recreational Specialist
This is a professional position responsible for conducting and overseeing recreational activities for the educational program, as well as the oversight of the after-school programs. This position supervises youth aged twelve (12) years through, and including, eighteen (18) years under the direction of the Recreation and Vocational Coordinator.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Graduation from high school or possession of an equivalency diploma plus, EITHER:
- Graduation with an Associate's degree or 60 college semester credit hours in Social Work, Sociology, or Criminal Justice, or in a human services, human relations, human and/or child development, child and/or family studies, social and cultural diversity, education, therapeutic recreation, sports administration, sports management, or leisure and/or sports, parks or recreation field
OR
- Two (2) years paid full-time or its part‑time equivalent experience in planning, organizing and conducting activities of a recreation program, physical education or sports program (school or other), or therapeutic recreation program
