Job Type: Seasonal / Full-Time (Summer Only)

Dates: 6/16/25-6/22/25

Compensation: $10 per hour + Room/Board

Position Summary:

Are you passionate about music and working with young people? UU Summer Vocal Music Camp is seeking an enthusiastic and responsible Vocal Music Camp Counselor to join our summer team. In this role, you will support campers ages 13-18 in developing their vocal abilities, building confidence, and having fun in a collaborative, creative environment. This is a unique opportunity to share your love of vocal music while creating a positive and memorable summer experience for aspiring young musicians.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise and mentor campers throughout daily activities, rehearsals, and performances
• Assist vocal instructors during voice lessons, sectionals, warm-ups, and workshops
• Lead or support group activities, including music games, talent shows, and recitals
• Ensure camper safety,engagement, and participation both in and out of rehearsal settings
• Foster a godly, respectful, and encouraging environment for all campers
• Help with set-up and clean-up of rehearsal spaces and performance venues
• Assist with evening and recreational activities as scheduled by camp leadership
• Communicate effectively with camp staff,instructors, and parentsas needed

Qualifications:

• Strong background in vocal performance (e.g., choir, solo singing, musical theatre)
• Prior experience working with children or teens (camps, teaching, tutoring, etc.)
• Enthusiastic, dependable, and able to serve as a positive role model
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to work as part of a team in a dynamic, fast-paced camp environment
• CPR/First Aid certification is a plus (or willingness to obtain)

Preferred Skills:

• Piano or basic accompaniment ability
• Experience in conducting, arranging, or directing small vocal ensembles
• Interest in musical theatre, a cappella, or other vocal styles
• Knowledge of vocal health and technique
