Mortgage Servicing Specialist

Role Responsibilities
Responsible for satisfying members’ mortgage financial needs in the following areas while meeting individual, department and organization goals:

• Fund all new loans on FICS and accurately post funds to respective general ledger accounts.
• Pay taxes and insurance on mortgage loans in a timely manner when due.
• Prepare and present the annual escrow analysis to the Mortgage Manager for approval.
• Prepare and present payoffs to the Mortgage Manager for approval and payment.
• Coordinate with the proper taxing entities to ensure accuracy of account numbers and/or payment amounts.
• Assist the collections department with information in order for them to process delinquent tax cases with the Attorney's office.
• Prepare release of liens, thank you letters and escrow check refunds.
• Provide accurate information regarding loan payoffs on FICS, including quotes, posting, corrections and maintenance.
• Maintain mortgage files on records of insurance, place forced policies, send out reminders and late notices and order mortgage loan coupons accurately and timely for member accounts.
• Balance and maintain General Ledger accounts for loan origination, points, relationship pricing, promos and fees.
• Daily balance of payments to FICS, sending file to Information Technology for daily processing.
• Assist members in person, by telephone, by mail, and on the web.
• Assist members when needed with questions regarding Real Estate related loan products, rates, terms, processing and researching escrow and payment inquiries.
• Act as back up to the Mortgage Loan Processor, reception area and assist with mortgage loans on an as needed basis.
• Assist with stacking, auditing and shipping of loans to secondary market investors.
• Coordinate correcting any suspense items for purchase with secondary market investors.
• Track and follow up on purchased advice from secondary market investors.
• Practices and brings to life with the team our “Yes And… culture.
• Comply with established regulations and law requirements.
• Perform various other duties as assigned.

Required Experience
• Minimum two (2) years of demonstrated qualifying experience in a financial institution and six (6) months experience in loan application, maintenance of loan files and bookkeeping.

Skills, Education and/or Certifications Required
• High School Diploma/GED.
• Preferred working knowledge of current Windows OS and MS Office software, Word, Excel and Power Point.
• Must be capable of performing in a fast-paced environment.
• Protect credit union’s image by keeping mortgage loan information confidential.
• Must have excellent written and verbal communications skills.
