Manufacturing Engineer
Job Summary: The Manufacturing Engineer position oversees and controls jig & fixture machining and manages various tools and equipment in the fabrication shop. This role ensures that requests from Production Engineering (PE) and Maintenance are fulfilled accurately and efficiently, supporting continuous improvement and production goals.
Key Responsibilities include the following (other duties may be assigned as needed):

Drawing, Jig & Fixture Analysis:
- Create drawings for jigs and fixtures based on requests from PE and Maintenance.
- If specific drawings are provided, verify dimensions and tolerances to ensure machining feasibility.
- Perform in-house machining for requested jigs and fixtures. If machining is not available in-house, coordinate with external contractors.

Management of Tools, Materials, and Equipment:
- Conduct daily checks on equipment maintenance and ensure a clean working environment.
- Monitor tool and material inventory daily and weekly to maintain adequate supplies.

Fabrication Shop Management:
- Manage and schedule fabrication plans versus actual progress, ensuring timely requisition fulfillment.
- Provide weekly status reports on the fabrication shop.

Safety Compliance:
- Follow all company safety requirements, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), personal protective equipment (PPE) use, and general shop safety protocols.
- Promote a safe work environment and immediately report any safety concerns or incidents.
Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor Degree in Manufacturing Engineering or a related field, or equivalent work-related experience.
Skills and Competencies:
- Skilled in AutoCad and capable of analyzing geometric tolerances.
- Proficient in operating CNC machining centers, lathes, presses, and other fabrication equipment.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills (verbal, written, listening).
- Results oriented with strong planning and problem-solving skills
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Working Conditions: This position is based in a fabrication shop environment, which includes exposure to machining operations, production equipment, and typical industrial conditions (noise, dust, temperature fluctuations, etc.) This position may require some work in an office environment, where tasks such as drawing preparation, documentation, and meetings are performed.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods on the shop floor.
- Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull materials and equipment up to 50 pounds.
- Manual dexterity for handling tools, operating machinery, and working with precision components.
- Visual acuity to read blueprints and perform detailed inspections.
- Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) such as safety glasses, gloves, and steel-toed boots in the fabrication shop.
