Geographic Information Intern (Hybrid)
The Future Technologists program is designed to recruit candidates who lack technology-related education and experience. The program targets high school students and other interns with limited experience.
Geographic Information Intern (Hybrid)
The position will provide the intern with the opportunity to learn how Geographic Information Systems (GIS) benefits North Carolinians, state agencies, local governments, and more. They will learn how the State of NC works closely with each local government across the state to support GIS coordination and collaboration.
Tasks will include but are not limited to:
- Attend Geographic Information Coordinating Council meetings (two during the six month period)
- Attend GICC Committee Meetings during the internship program to better understand each committee
- Work closely alongside the CGIA Coordination Program Manager to provide collaboration and coordination support statewide
- Work closely alongside a CGIA Senior Project Manager to provide GIS services to NC State Agencies
- Full review of NC OneMap to gain an understanding of the data and services provided
- Produce Experience Builder Applications, Dashboards, and PDF maps for state agencies, local governments, and more
