Quality Assurance Manager

We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Quality Assurance professional to join our team and help us maintain our commitment to quality and safety. 

 

Position Overview: 

As a Quality Assurance Manager at Mazzetta Company, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring that our seafood products meet and exceed the highest quality standards. This position will be responsible for overseeing the quality control processes, conducting quality audits, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and implementing quality improvement initiatives. This position requires strong leadership skills, attention to detail, and a deep understanding of seafood quality standards and regulations. 

Fulltime position will be based at company HQ in Highland Park, IL. 

 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Create and revise product specifications and documentation to ensure they align with quality standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Develop, coordinate, and execute comprehensive QA programs, including Preventive Controls, Food Safety, SQF, HACCP, GMPs, Food Defense, and Pre-Requisite Programs.
  • Work with the company’s quality control inspector on inspections of incoming raw materials and finished products to ensure compliance with quality specifications.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including production, procurement, and sales, to identify and resolve quality-related issues.
  • Identify and implement strategies to enhance quality and safety procedures, ensuring continuous improvement across all production processes.
  • Investigate customer complaints and implement corrective actions as necessary to address quality concerns.
  • Stay up to date with industry regulations and standards related to seafood quality and safety.
  • Conduct internal audits and work closely with external auditors to ensure compliance with quality and safety standards.
  • Continuously identify opportunities for process improvement and cost reduction while maintaining high-quality standards.

 

Qualifications: 

The following preferences will be considered, though they are not all mandatory. 

  • Bachelor's degree in food science, biology, or a related field.
  • At least 2-3 years of QA experience in the food production industry, with a proven track record in a supervisory role.
  • Strong knowledge of quality standards, regulations, and HACCP principles.
  • Exceptional communication abilities, adept at conducting audits, documenting findings, and evaluating food sensory qualities.
  • Proficiency in using quality control software and tools.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Strong commitment to food safety and sustainability.
