Intern, Mayor's Office
Position Summary:
The Office of Mayor Todd Gloria is accepting applications for interns to support the daily operations and strategic initiatives of the Mayor’s Office. Interns will assist with constituent services, policy research, community engagement, and administrative tasks while gaining firsthand experience in local government.
Divisions include: Community Engagement, Policy, Boards and Commissions, Communications, Global Affairs, Administration, and Government Affairs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Respond to constituent inquiries and casework via phone and email
- Manage the Mayor’s public email inbox
- Draft proclamations, certificates, letters, and official documents
- Assist with press events, digital content, and public messaging
- Conduct policy research and prepare briefing materials
- Attend community meetings, public events, and internal briefings
- Provide administrative support to Mayor’s staff and operations
Program Details:
Time Commitment: 6 months
Schedule: Flexible, minimum of 10–15 hours per week
Location: San Diego City Hall
Preferred Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled in a college or university program
- Strong communication, writing, and organizational skills
- Interest in public service, government operations, or civic leadership
