Health Roads is looking for an Intern!!
Health Roads is a Health and Human Services technology startup based in the United States, dedicated to transforming healthcare operations through intelligent digital solutions. Our mission is to enhance the delivery of care and services across populations by creating modern, AI-enabled platforms that drive efficiency, improve care outcomes, and enable data-driven decision-making. We work closely with healthcare organizations, payers, and government agencies to bring innovation to public health systems.
We are seeking passionate and curious interns to join our 10-week Summer Internship Program beginning June 23, 2025. As part of the program, you will collaborate with our product and engineering teams to design, prototype, and develop intelligent solutions for our Care Engage Platform — a next-generation toolset aimed at transforming how healthcare providers manage outreach, care coordination, and revenue processes.
The platform’s key modules include:
- Outreach & Engagement: Tools for personalized communication, follow-ups, and reminders for patients and members
- Care Management: Workflows for case managers, care coordinators, and field staff
- Billing & Claims Optimization: Automation and tracking to improve revenue recognition and reduce turnaround times
- Reporting & Compliance: Real-time dashboards and alerts to support program integrity and outcomes tracking
Position: Product & AI Development Intern
Duration: 10 Weeks (June 23 – August 29, 2025)
Location: California Bay Area
Eligibility: Undergraduate Students in Computer Science, Data Science, Health Informatics, or related fields
Your Role & Responsibilities
As a Product & AI Development Intern, you will:
- Assist in conceptualizing and developing AI-powered prototypes that support care delivery and operational efficiency
- Explore and implement solutions using the Agentic AI paradigm — where autonomous, goal-driven agents collaborate, plan, and execute tasks intelligently across the healthcare workflow
- Contribute to the design of smart components that help identify care gaps, automate repetitive workflows, and provide intelligent recommendations
- Work in an agile team environment, participating in sprint planning, reviews, and cross-functional collaboration
- Support documentation of technical concepts, user stories, and process flows
- Present your work at the end of the internship to company leadership and stakeholders

Qualifications
- Enrolled in an undergraduate program in a relevant field (Computer Science, Data Science, Health Informatics, etc.)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen interest in AI-driven technologies
- Ability to take initiative and work independently without constant supervision. Comfortable exploring tasks proactively and identifying solutions.
- Comfortable working with abstract product concepts and converting them into tangible, user-centric features
- Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset
- Prior exposure to healthcare systems, data, or AI tools is a plus but not required
