Content Writer - Science Subject Matter Expert

We are seeking experienced Science or STEM Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to support the development of engaging science content for students in grades 3–8. This role involves writing lesson content, hands-on activities, and assessments aligned with science standards, including NGSS.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop clear, grade-appropriate science lessons and instructional content

Design hands-on activities that align with learning objectives and support inquiry-based learning

Write formative and summative assessment items tied to the curriculum and NGSS standards

Collaborate with internal teams to ensure pedagogical accuracy, clarity, and alignment with standards

Revise and refine content based on feedback

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a science/STEM discipline

3+ years of experience writing educational content for grades 3–8

Strong understanding of NGSS and other science curriculum frameworks

Familiarity with the engineering design process

Exceptional writing and editing skills with attention to pedagogical clarity

Experience developing assessment items is strongly preferred

Availability during standard business hours is required

Commitment:

6-month contract with a potential for extension

30–35 hours per week
