JOB TITLE: Inside Sales Representative
REPORTS TO: Director of Sales
SUMMARY:
The primary responsibilities of this role include managing inbound and outbound sales efforts, prospecting for new contacts, and building relationships with clients to drive revenue growth for our precision ground bars in the medical and aerospace industries.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Sales Outreach & Lead Generation:
- Manage a high volume of inbound and outbound calls/emails to identify and qualify leads in a timely manner to generate new sales opportunities.
- Identify new contacts and revenue opportunities within the customers’ industries and verticals through a variety of methods to include prospecting tools (such as ZoomInfo), cold calling, referrals, and social media leads.
- Use industry associations, publications, tradeshow leads, and other means to generate sales opportunities.
- Build, manage, and drive an organized sales pipeline in the CRM, tracking progress and updating deal stages.
- Clearly communicate the company’s value proposition, emphasizing quality, precision, and reliability to prospective and existing customers.
- Position the company as a trusted partner by demonstrating how its offerings can solve customer challenges and drive value.
Team Collaboration:
- Work closely with the assigned Customer Experience Representative (CER) to ensure seamless order processing and exceptional customer service.
- Provide quotes in a timely and accurate manner.
- Track quotes and follow up to convert them into orders, maintaining a target win rate of 30% or higher.
- Partner with the Regional Sales Manager to strategize on territory sales plans and maximize revenue opportunities and coordinate transition of accounts when needed.
- Provide clear and concise sales and service support to the Regional Sales Manager
- Contribute to team sales targets and collaborate with colleagues to meet the company’s revenue goal.
- Provide input on customer needs, product feedback, and market trends to the sales and marketing teams.
- Support Management with reporting, as necessary.
- Participate in bi-annual Sales Meetings, and other sessions a deemed appropriate by Management.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, ensuring satisfaction and loyalty through regular account interaction both in person and virtually.
Customer Relationship Management:
- Professionally and tactfully assist the CER in addressing operation issues for customers to include clarifications, delivery information, expediting orders, escalations, discrepancies, and complaints; always strive to exceed customer expectations.
- Occasional travel required, with a minimum of 1-2 Customer visits per quarter.
Product & Technical Knowledge:
- Develop a deep understanding of the company’s products and services, their applications, and how they meet the needs of precision manufacturers.
- Understand and articulate the technical specifications.
- Strive to learn continuously and proactively seek information and training to gain product knowledge.
- Provide accurate and detailed answers to customer questions regarding products and services.
- Leverage technical experts within the company to provide technical assistance to customers as needed.
- Track and report KPIs such as call volume, prospecting activity, quote accuracy, and revenue generated.
- As needed follow other job-related instructions and to perform other job-related duties, projects as requested by Manager.
REQUIREMENTS / BACKGROUND:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or a related field preferred (or equivalent experience).
- 2+ years of inside sales experience, preferably in manufacturing or industrial sales.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel), ERP and CRM software. Experience with prospecting tools like ZoomInfo and CRMs (e.g., HubSpot, Salesforce) is a plus.
- Ability to understand forecasting, quoting, and account analysis. Knowledge of precision metals or manufacturing processes is a plus.
