Civil Engineer
The Little Snake River Conservation District is seeking a qualified Civil Engineer.
The position will work directly with ranchers, foresters, other Agriculture producers and conservation partners. Duties for the position generally includes engineering surveys and civil engineering design of conservation practices, installation oversight, and ensuring the practices meet standards. The work is key to agency success, because the one-on-one time with producers will result in on-the-ground practices that directly improve, conserve, or restore our natural resources. The position is responsible for the planning, design, and construction of engineering works or improvements for any conservation activities taken on by the District and the Natural Resource Conservation Service (NRCS). This position requires the application of sound engineering principles. This includes adapting proven methods and procedures, as well as devising new design procedures incorporating the latest technological advances in conservation engineering.
Permanent full-time year-round non-exempt position.
Salary Range: $75,000.00 to $110,000.00 contingent upon education and experience

Duties and responsibilities shall include but not limited to:
Assist District Engineer and the NRCS with surveying, drafting (AutoCAD), design computations, construction of plans and specifications, construction inspection and completion of as-built documentation and reports. Computes and analyzes data from field notes, prepares, inspects, and processes data using computer software.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiar with irrigation practices and irrigation infrastructure including but not limited to diversion structures, irrigation pipelines, canal lining, and other water conservation practices.
- Trained or experience in designing stream and river restoration practices including bioengineering and natural channel design.
- Familiar with design and operation of stock water pipelines systems.
- Trained in surveying and data computations, and construction designs.
Qualifications
- A four-year degree in civil engineering or a related engineering field or be getting a degree.
- Possess experience in soil conservation or related agricultural or natural resource discipline such as agronomy, soil science, forestry, or agricultural.
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and in a team
- Excellent communication skills
- Proficiency in technical drawings and documentation
- Knowledge of engineering principles and practices
- Attention to detail
- Ability to troubleshoot and repair equipment
- Familiarity with industry regulations and standards
