About the Project
We are a small but dedicated indie team developing an educational pixel-style adventure game that teaches Python programming through interactive gameplay. Our project blends engaging game mechanics, beautiful pixel art, and real coding logic.

Role Overview
We are looking for a motivated Pixel Art & Game Asset Intern to support our visual development. You will work closely with our main artist and developer to:

Build Tiled-compatible level assets, including collision layers and tilesets

Assist in drawing pixel art sprites and animation frames based on our established style guide

Collaborate with the team to prototype game levels using existing assets

Help manage and organize visual assets in an efficient pipeline for Pygame development

🧠 This role is ideal for aspiring game artists or level designers who want to gain hands-on experience in game development and contribute to a meaningful educational product.

Responsibilities

Create and update Tiled maps with object layers, tiles, and collision areas

Design or refine pixel art sprites, environment tiles, and simple animations

Follow style references and ensure consistency across assets

Collaborate with the core artist and developer to test assets in the game

Provide creative input on environment layouts and visual polish

Requirements

Familiarity with Tiled Map Editor or a willingness to learn it quickly

Basic skills in pixel art and animation (even self-taught or hobby-level is welcome)

Understanding of tilesets, sprite sheets, and basic animation principles

Comfortable using tools like Aseprite, Piskel, or similar

Organized, proactive, and willing to learn

Nice to Have (Optional)

Experience with Pygame or 2D game engines

Interest in game-based learning or educational games
