Engineering Department Intern
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
· High School diploma or equivalent is required. Enrollment in an accredited college is required.
· Must be proficient in computer systems. Experience with GIS, AutoCAD, MicroStation or similar CAD program preferred.

JOB SUMMARY:
To update the data and produce the mapping products and other drawings required from within the GIS systems; to develop additional mapping products as requested; to enter land data into the GIS system as required; and promote a smooth and coordinated flow of department engineering material within the department and with other departments.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Under the direction of the Development Engineer and within the limits of established policies, assumes responsibility for the performance of the following activities:
- Assist the Engineering Department with day-to-day workflow functions.
- Plans for the smooth flow of work in the GIS functions for the Engineering Department.
- Maintains proficiency in all matters pertaining to GIS.
- Supports Development Engineer and Service Designers by printing GIS mapping and associated work orders and service orders.
- Creates work orders in GIS.
- Audits records and performs data mining for special projects as required.
- Coordinates with supported personnel upon completion of their respective projects.
- Updates GIS mapping records with data collected using GPS equipment.
- Operates Engineering Department scanner and plotter.
- Assists Design team with field checks and staking work as needed.
- Maintains assigned equipment and supplies.
- Keeps current on Board policies and operational bulletins.
- Performs other duties as may be assigned.
