Co-Producer/Mixing Engineer
Co-Producer/Mixing Engineer Wanted – Modern Electronic-Based Project
Part-Time Job Opportunity with potential for longer-term collaboration
Job Overview
I need someone for back-end production work - primarily updating instrument selections, helping with transitions, light editing, adding effects and improving overall sonic quality while keeping the core identity intact. Mixing capabilities would be a bonus but not required.
My music is electronic-based and modern but not trendy, with a big, full mix, a strong beat (but not dance music), selectively edgy elements, and emotive vocals—think of a modernized version of The Cure or Depeche Mode.
I used to work in Logic but have recently changed my workflow to stay as long as possible in GarageBand on my mobile, where I am more creative (for whatever reason). I would send you my project files, which you would import into your DAW of choice - Logic preferred so that you can send back the project file and we can exchange ideas more easily. Once we have gone through all revisions and gotten to an almost-final production, I would record the final vocal, after which we would make any final adjustments to the production and you would then do the final mix.
I have several songs to complete and have evolved my workflow into one that will let me focus on the parts I do best while ensuring that the songs get done. This is a somewhat different way of working and perhaps not for everyone. But if this is up your alley then please reach out! My hope is to find a good long-term collaborator if things work out. I’m looking for an artistically motivated partnership rather than just a transactional service and am open to royalty-based compensation if we align creatively.
Requirements
- Prior experience in production or mixing, whether for a company/ label/ studio or simply for yourself. Please include samples of your prior work.
- Basic DAW proficiency (bouncing tracks, creating MP3s, etc.), including the ability to prepare a project file that can be used when the other person may not necessarily own all of the same plug-ins.
- Basic file management skills (uploading files, using WeTransfer or similar programs, etc.)
- Access to a range of plug-ins (i.e., not relying on stock instruments)
Please provide a quote for each part (back-end production and, if relevant, mixing) as well as samples of your work and your general availability. Looking forward to hearing from you!
