Hybrid Schedule (remote three days/week)

 

The KASB Multimedia Specialist is an essential part of a welcoming creative team that supports school districts across the state and tells stories about the great things happening in Kansas public schools. The ideal candidate for this position will have a portfolio that shows a love of visual design, photography, video and podcast creation. Training and professional learning is a priority to learn and sharpen skills in these areas. In addition to multimedia expertise, the top candidate will bring creativity, an excitement to grow and a can-do positive energy to our mission-driven team. 

Prefer bachelor's degree in public relations, advertising, video production or other related field with emphasis in audio and visual communication, with 0-3 years of professional experience.

KASB’s Communications and Engagement team operates on a hybrid schedule with required in-office days on Mondays and Thursdays in the Topeka office. 

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & ESSENTIAL SKILLS

  • Develop and create engaging content, including graphic design and layout, video, podcast and photography for print and digital publications and platforms.
  • Collaborate with KASB departments in the development, refining, editing, publishing and design of member resources, including digital, print, video, live broadcasts, podcasts and graphics.
  • Develop and support efforts to tell the story of KASB members, including field work to capture information and content for human interest stories in collaboration with the Marketing Communication Manager and other key association staff.
  • Oversee the association’s social media accounts and content development, including development and scheduling of posts in alignment with integrated marketing goals and strategic priorities.
  • Oversee and operate KASB’s in-house media studio.
  • Possess/develop an entrepreneurial approach to work, including initiative, creativity, accountability and identifying new opportunities .
  • Commitment to ongoing learning activities to grow as a professional in knowledge, skills and abilities that align to and elevate KASB’s mission.
