Tax Prep Internship

Tax Internship - Spring 2026

The nonprofit CASH (Creating Assets, Savings & Hope) Campaign of Maryland works to increase the financial security of low-income individuals and families by providing direct services and leading a coalition of partners.

The Tax Internship offers students the opportunity to become IRS certified tax preparers and join a CASH Campaign of Maryland tax site under the direct supervision of a tax site manager. Interns provide free tax preparation services to working families - helping them avoid the high cost of paid tax preparers.  These services ensure families take advantage of the Earned Income Tax Credit and other valuable tax credits that reduce the tax burden of families earning less than $64,000 per year.  Additionally, Interns will help clients leverage their refunds over time by offering savings and asset development opportunities at the site.
