Job location: Montgomery, AL

This cooperative education position includes entry-level technical work associated with Civil and Environmental Engineering performed both in the office and various field settings. Our co-ops work with our multi-disciplinary team of professional engineers, inspectors, GIS specialists, consulting engineering firms, and contractors.

The following are some of the duties and responsibilities associated with the co-op position:

• Performing tasks associated with reviewing, managing, and finalizing subdivision projects and development plans.
• Assisting engineers in planning, designing, and managing in-house design projects.
• Performing research and collecting necessary information to assist engineers in reviewing proposed projects.
• Performing data collection, surveying, and other field work for various projects.
• Developing word documents and spreadsheets to compile data for various specialized projects.
• Performing drafting for standard details, construction drawings, maps, and plat books.
• Assisting customers with inquiries and concerns regarding water and sewer service.

The Montgomery Water Works seeks to provide our co-ops varied experiences in the water and wastewater engineering field by involving them in all aspects of our engineering department’s work.
