Student Ministry Director

Christ Church Vienna is seeking a full-time Student Ministry Director that will assume the leadership and responsibility for a dynamic and missional Student Ministry that walks with students in their Middle School and High School years. This position will work closely with church leadership integrating small groups and local and short-term missions as critical to the ongoing spiritual formation of students and continuing to foster the community of Christ seeking students in our community. 

This position is intended for the Student Ministry Director to allow 50% of their time to be devoted to students within our congregation and 50% of their time allowing them to reach out and minister to students in our community but not yet in our congregation.

Responsibilities
The CCV Student Ministry Director will be responsible to shepherd a weekly direct ministry to Middle School (6th-8th Grade) and High School (9th-12th Grade) students with specific focus on the following:

• Shepherd and oversee the Middle School ministry at CCV, overseeing the MS ministry in the school year and summer seasons, working to encourage, cast vision and shepherd the student leaders that help in small group discipleship. Assist with all planning and execution for MS student outreach events, camp experiences, etc....

• Shepherd and oversee the High School ministry at CCV, working in collaboration with the
existing CCV volunteer leaders in offering the weekly BEYOND gatherings (Worship/Bible
Study/Community building) and helping shepherd and invest in the leaders of our HS small
groups. Responsible for the prayerful planning, preparation, communication, volunteers and all details pertaining to the execution of HS student missional outreach events, weekend retreats, etc....

• To communicate, in real time, with church staff, students, parents, and all stakeholders and to be responsible in updating ministry website and managing social media and other
communication outlets 

• To execute all functions of this role/trusted position, in complete adherence and obedience to the Child Protection Protocols established and maintained by Christ Church Vienna (CCV), The Diocese of the Mid Atlantic (DOMA) and the Anglican Church of North America (ACNA).

• Working collaboratively with CCV mission staff in MS and HS summer mission planning,
preparation, fundraising and execution of summer missions/outreach ministry.

• And other duties as assigned.

Requirements and Qualifications

• The applicant will be a man or woman that has a call to (or discerning a call towards) ministry to students in their Middle School and High School Years.

• The applicant will have shown themselves to be a person of faith in Christ that has exemplified and demonstrated- kindness, love, compassion, emotional maturity, responsibility and leadership and is in agreement with CCV’s Vision and Values (see

• The applicant will have shown the ability to build relationships and utilize a
relational/incarnational method of evangelism and discipleship in the mission of embodying the Gospel to our students and the surrounding community connected to and through our church.

• BA in Student Ministry or a related field; or a BA and extensive experience in direct ministry leadership in a campus ministry; a combination of education and experience may be considered; some theological education preferred.

• At least 2 years of working in ministry (church or nonprofit) setting preferred; and possess the ability to communicate biblical truths and teaching students in these years but also demonstrate the ability to communicate in written and verbal ways with adults and parents within our church and in the greater community.

• The ability to manage a ministry budget and be responsible for reporting to leadership when requested.

• The proven ability to lead a bible study/small group, to be able to pray with students and
parents and be able to build and maintain relationships with all key groups- ranging from
church leadership, parents, outside ministry partners and community stakeholders.

• Willing to begin ongoing biblical education that would aid and assist in the spiritual formation of the adolescents in our congregation and community.

• Basic office technology skills: Microsoft Office Suite, database, website, spreadsheets and social media skills

• Theological alignment with the leadership of Christ Church Vienna

• Satisfactory background check Compensation

• Compensation will depend on experience
