Production Assistant Internship

Family Learning Company develops family learning software. Family learning software is designed to be used by any and all family members. Our first product was Interactive Family Literacy, with literacy software activities for children between 5-12, youth between 12-18, and adults. Our second product is Workforce Words, a vocabulary development program for youth training for the trades. A one-page description of this product is attached.

The Workforce Words internship is to product as many of the job-specific vocabulary products as possible. Each product is comprised of 300 words and approximately 300 activities. The intern will use a variety of AI tools and our proprietary authoring app. The end result is that the production assistant intern will create finished software products without the need for any programmer ability at all.

Responsibilities:

1. Use Claude AI to generate a list of 300 job-specific vocabulary words, a definition for each word, a context sentence for each word, and translations for the word, definition, and sentence in Spanish.
2. Divide the single CSV file that Claude creates into a series of approximately thirty smaller CSV files, each with approximately ten words (and their definitions and sentences in English and Spanish).
3. Use Chat GPT to generate clipart images of the 30-40 tools associated with each job. Resize the large images that Chat GPT creates into smaller images.
4. Use ideogram.ai to create ten job-specific background (photo-like) images and a drawing program to resize them.
5. Use our proprietary authoring program (the Make app) to import the smaller CSV files into what we call Word Activity Groups (a group of words that will generate 8-10 different activities using the words in the Word Activity Group..
6. Import the clipart images into the appropriate Word Activity groups.
7. Use AWS Polly to generate audio files for the words and definitions in Spanish and English.
8. View your finished software product within one day of finishing your work.
9. Each job-specific product takes 8-10 hours of production assistant work. We will expect the production assistant to work at a rate of 2-3 products per week for the ten-week internship.

Essential Skills

• Using AI tools. We use Chat GPT, Claude AI, and ideogram.ai, but use of 2-3 different AI tools (whatever they are) is appropriate for this internship.
• Using art.drawing programs, specifically to modify images.
• Using any text-to-speech (TTS) functionality is a plus, but it is not necessary.
• Using any software authoring program that requires no programming skills is a plus, but it is not necessary.

The production assistant intern will work directly with Dr. Peter Dublin, President of Family Learning Company and the person at the company in charge of product development. I have done the first four products myself and am familiar with all aspects of the production assistant’s responsibilities. I have attached a draft of detailed instructions and will expect the intern to immediately communicate with me and confusion over the documentation so that I can revise it to make it concise, clear, and complete.
