Lead Digital Electrical Engineer

Responsibilities:

• Design and prototype complex electronic control systems for digital, analog, and RF signal management.
• Perform schematic design, board layout, FPGA design, and embedded software development.
• Work in a fast-paced R&D environment to develop and test new technologies;
• Collaborate with quantum scientists and hardware engineers to integrate control systems into quantum platforms.
• Evaluate and implement emerging technologies to improve quantum system performance.
• Lead design teams through full project lifecycles, ensuring delivery with first-pass success.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 8+ years of experience in digital board design (schematic capture and layout).
• 5+ years of experience in R&D and rapid prototyping environments;
• Must be a U.S. person (U.S. citizen, green card holder, or protected refugee/asylee).
• Cannot be a national of the People’s Republic of China or Russia unless also a U.S. citizen.

Preferred:

• Master’s or PhD in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• Experience designing with FPGAs, high-speed serial interfaces, and DDR memory.
• Hands-on lab experience with oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, JTAG, and related tools.
• Proficiency in FPGA design (Xilinx, VHDL, Verilog, SystemVerilog);
• Embedded software development, particularly for Zynq Ultrascale+ platforms.
• Experience with Altium Designer for PCB layout.
• Strong leadership and mentoring capabilities.
