1st Grade General Studies Teacher (Half-Time) Wanted: Must Love Young Minds and Full Days in Half the Time

Do you believe that teaching 1st grade is one of the most joyful, hilarious, and important jobs in the world? Do you love the idea of teaching it all: reading, writing, math, science, and social studies but in a shorter school day? If so, you might be the perfect fit.

At Gindi Maimonides Academy, we’re looking for a passionate half-time 1st grade lead General Studies teacher to join our warm and collaborative elementary team. This position is ideal for someone who wants meaningful, full classroom teaching, but with a part-time schedule.

What Makes This Role Unique:

  • Half-Day, Full Curriculum: Our school day is divided between religious and General Studies. You’ll teach the full general studies curriculum including ELA, math, science, and social studies in a focused half-day model.
  • You’re Never Alone: Work alongside a fantastic veteran assistant teacher and collaborate daily with our outstanding 1st grade team, who share lesson planning, ideas, and support.
  • Specialist Support: Students also attend PE (5x/week), library, innovation lab, music, and art with specialists giving you more time to focus on core instruction.
  • Community You’ll Love: We’re a school that values warmth, teamwork, and deep relationships with students, families, and each other.

We’re Looking for Someone Who:

  • Has lead classroom experience teaching in an elementary school setting (not preschool or early childhood)
  • Holds a Multiple Subject Teaching Credential
  • Loves planning creative, intentional lessons and is excited about making a big impact in a compact schedule
  • Brings warmth, structure, and high expectations to the classroom

  • Monday - Thursday 7:45 - 12:30
  • Friday 7:45 - 12:00
