Senior Director of Educational Services

Position Type: Full-time Exempt – 12 months

Reports to: Chief Academic Officer

Location: Magnolia Public Schools (MPS) Home Office

Salary Range: $140K-$155K

 

Job Summary:

Magnolia Public Schools (MPS) is seeking an experienced and strategic Senior Director of Educational Services to lead, manage, and innovate educational initiatives across all MPS school sites. Reporting directly to the Chief Academic Officer, this leadership role is responsible for ensuring the effective delivery of curriculum, instruction, and professional development in alignment with California state standards and federal mandates for grades TK–12. The Senior Director will also supervise multiple programmatic leaders , act as a liaison between other academic departments and coordinate efforts to ensure every student is prepared for postsecondary success through a robust College & Career Readiness program.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Instructional Program Oversight

  • Provide strategic leadership for TK–12 curriculum and instruction across content areas.

     
  • Conduct regular school visits to observe and support high-quality instruction.

     
  • Support independent study programs and ensure compliance with educational regulations.

     
  • Collaborate with HR and site leaders to monitor and maintain educator credentials and paraprofessional qualifications.

     

2. Professional Development and Teacher Support

  • Design and implement new teacher induction programs and ongoing professional development for instructional staff.

     
  • Promote teacher growth through coaching, wellness programs, and leadership development (e.g., department leads, WASC teams).

     
  • Lead collaboration initiatives and MPS symposia to build instructional capacity across the network.

     

3. College and Career Readiness Leadership

  • Oversee TK–12 college and career readiness initiatives across all sites.

     
  • Develop systems to monitor graduation, college enrollment, and completion rates.

     
  • Guide implementation of CTE, PSAT/SAT/ACT, AP, dual enrollment, financial aid and scholarship programs.

     
  • Support school-based internships, alumni success programs, alumni engagement, and postsecondary success tracking.

     

4. Program Supervision and Coordination

  • Supervise and support the following MPS academic leaders:

    • MPS Director of EL and ELA Programs

       
    • MPS Director of STEM Programs

       
    • MPS ELOP Coordinator

       
    • MPS VAPA Program Coordinator and TOSAs

       
    • MPS College and Career Readiness Coordinator

       
    • MPS Dual Enrollment Coordinator

       
  • Coordinate network-wide program implementation, compliance, and evaluation.

     
  • Maintain and disseminate instructional resources through portals such as Google Classroom and email groups.

     

5. Strategic Planning and Data Use

  • Analyze instructional and programmatic data to guide continuous improvement.

     
  • Lead action planning aligned with state frameworks and MPS strategic goals.

     
  • Provide recommendations and reports to Chief Academic Officer and executive leadership.

     

6. Innovation and Network Engagement

  • Support instructional innovation and system-wide alignment of teaching and learning.

     
  • Lead quarterly academic team planning and coordinate network-wide events.



 

Qualifications:

 

  • Master’s in Education or related field; 5+ years in educational leadership.

     
  • Proven success in instructional initiatives and leading cross-functional teams.

     
  • Skilled in K–12 program oversight (Core & Electives) and teacher development.

     
  • Strong grasp of mandates, curriculum standards, and instructional evaluation.

     
  • Experienced in multi-site PD coordination and digital tools (e.g., Google Classroom).

     
  • Knowledgeable in CTE, college readiness programs, and data-driven accountability.

     
  • Effective communicator and collaborator with diverse stakeholders.
