Temporary Human Resources Assistant

LifeWorks of Austin, TX is looking for a temporary, part time Human Resources Assistant to join our Human Resources team! 

This part time, non-exempt position earns a competitive starting rate of $22.00/hr. to be paid biweekly. This is a temporary position scheduled through September 30th 2025.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Administers monthly employee recognition process to support employee engagement, including the Gratitude Award process and announcements of birthdays and anniversaries.
  • Maintains HR email inbox, general administrative and data entry duties.
  • Assists with reference checks.
  • Tracks employee driver requirements and facilitates updating drivers licensing records in the HRIS.
  • Assists in organizing staff events, including event communication, coordinating with vendors, and helping with event details.
  • Assists with HR related projects, including cross department collaboration, monitoring deliverables and timelines, and keeping stakeholders informed of progress and challenges.
  • Assists in maintaining employee records in human resource information system and hard files and participates directly in audits led by contract holders (DFPS, HHS, etc.); provides applicable documentation in timely fashion.
  • Supports all other HR duties and functions as needed, working in close collaboration with the other HR team members.
  • Keeps abreast of employment law and current legislation in relation to HR.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Requires an Associates or bachelor's degree in human resources, Business Management or equivalent;
  • Requires 1-2 years of related Human Resources experience, or
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite, preferred intermediate level Excel skills. 
  • Experience with HRIS or HCM systems, preferably UKG.
