Starting Compensation: $15/hour

FLSA Status: Intern
Full-time/Part-time: Part-time (20-25 hours per week with flexible scheduling)
Position Summary and objective
As an Administrative Intern for the Finance Team, you will play a crucial role in reviewing, editing, and enhancing our existing financial documentation. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in financial operations and policy implementation, while contributing to the efficiency and effectiveness of our financial practices.
Essential Functions
- Regular attendance is an essential function for all employees. We depend on our employees to show up, begin work and end work at the time their schedule indicates and whenever scheduled to work, aside from extenuating circumstances.
- Review and analyze existing financial policies and procedures to identify areas for improvement.
- Assist in drafting, editing, and updating financial documentation to ensure clarity, accuracy, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather insights and feedback on financial processes.
- Research industry best practices and benchmarks to propose innovative solutions for policy enhancements.
- Contribute to the development of training materials related to updated financial policies and procedures.
- Support the team in maintaining a centralized database of financial documentation for easy access and reference.

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.

Work Location and Hours of Work
- Office in Black Diamond Building 2923 Park Avenue Huntington, WV 25704
- Coalfield Development operates on a Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM schedule.
Environment Conditions, Physical Activity, Physical Demands
- Must be able to work seated or standing at a desk and/or computer.
Travel and Transportation Requirements
Candidates must provide reliable transportation to their primary work location and other locations as required. Travel expenses (excluding commutes) may be reimbursed per Coalfield’s policies and procedures. Coalfield has a limited fleet of vehicles and frequently carpools to minimize travel burdens on employees. A valid driver's license and annual completion of our drivers safety course is required in order to drive a Coalfield vehicle.
Required Experience and Education
- Currently pursuing a degree in finance, accounting, business administration, or a related field.
