Safety Engineer
ACE is adding a dedicated and proactive Safety Engineer to help drive a culture of safety excellence on one of our large-scale environmental infrastructure projects.
This role is ideal for someone with a few years of hands-on construction safety experience who wants to play a key role in maintaining and strengthening ACE’s safety-first culture. You’ll be a go-to resource for field staff, supervisors, and leadership—ensuring our people go home safely every day. Responsibilities
- Conduct regular, boots-on-the-ground safety inspections to identify hazards and ensure full compliance with OSHA, ACE policies, and client-specific safety requirements.
- Maintain and manage safety documentation, including audits, incident reports, Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), and daily/weekly checklists.
- Support and lead safety trainings to keep the team informed, prepared, and compliant.
- Lead and document incident investigations and drive corrective action plans to prevent recurrence.
- Partner with field leadership to identify risks before work starts—and eliminate them before they become issues.
- Contribute to the development and rollout of company-wide safety initiatives.
- Act as a hands-on resource for all safety-related matters, supporting both field staff and management.
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of experience in construction safety, preferably in heavy civil, industrial, or environmental work.
- Degree in Occupational Safety, Construction Management, or a related field—or equivalent field experience.
- OSHA 30-hour certification required; OSHA 500 or CHST certification is a strong plus.
- Solid understanding of OSHA regulations and EM 385-1-1 standards.
- Skilled in completing and managing safety documentation and reports.
- Strong communication and leadership skills with the ability to influence and motivate teams.
- Highly organized and able to work independently in a dynamic field environment.
- OSHA 500 or CHST certification is a strong plus.
