Position Title:  Student Lab Technician

Organization:  IU School of Medicine

Department/ Office:  Orthopaedic Surgery

Hourly Wage:  $15.00

Number of Openings:  1

Average Hours/ Week:  15-25 hrs./ week

Start Date: AS SOON AS POSSIBLE

Duration: Summer 2025

Overview

The lab of Dr. Schlecht, Assistant Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery is seeking the help of an work study student, on a part time basis.

Job Responsibilities/Duties:

  • Will be performing basic lab work

 Qualifications: Must have federal work study*

Availability:

  • Needed to work 15-25 hours per week
  • This is an in person position, remote work will not be offered

 Knowledge, Skills, Attributes:

  • Must be comfortable with animal research
  • No research experience needed
  • All necessary training will be provided

 This position will offer the opportunity to learn:

  • Experience working in a lab environment
  • Various Supervision and oversight styles while taking direction from others on a team as well as working independently
  • To build on communication skills 
  • Gathering information and organization skills
