Event Manager 

Position Overview 

MDAA is looking for an experienced Event Manager with a proven track record in coordinating, scheduling, and executing high-level award ceremonies and events on a global scale. This role requires expertise in military protocol, as well as the ability to effectively interact with elected officials and sponsors. The ideal candidate will demonstrate professionalism, adept organizational skills, and the ability to deliver impeccably coordinated events. 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Event Planning and Coordination: Develop and execute comprehensive event plans for high-level award ceremonies and events globally. 
  • Knowledge of Protocols: Ensure all events adhere to military protocols and procedures, maintaining the highest standards of decorum. 
  • Stakeholder Management: Liaise with elected officials, sponsors, and dignitaries, ensuring their needs are met with professionalism and courtesy. 
  • Venue Booking: Identify and secure appropriate venues for events, ensuring they meet all logistical and capacity requirements. 
  • Invitation Management: Design and distribute invitations, manage RSVPs, and maintain accurate guest lists. 
  • Material Logistics: Order, ship, and manage event materials, ensuring timely delivery and setup. 
  • Coordination with Awardees: Communicate with award recipients and their organizations, ensuring they have all necessary information and support. 
  • On-site Management: Oversee event setup, execution, and teardown, ensuring all aspects run smoothly and according to plan. 
  • Budget Management: Develop and manage event budgets, ensuring cost-effective solutions without compromising on quality. 
  • Post-Event Analysis: Conduct post-event evaluations to assess success and areas for improvement. 

Qualifications 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Event Management, Hospitality, Public Relations, or a related field. 
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in event management, with a focus on high-level award ceremonies and global events. 
  • Strong understanding of military protocols and experience working with elected officials and sponsors. 
  • Exceptional organizational and multitasking skills, with a keen attention to detail. 
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. 
  • Proven ability to manage budgets and negotiate contracts. 
  • Proficiency in event management software and tools. 
  • Willingness to travel globally and work flexible hours as needed.
