Salary: $62,000-$75,000 per year (based on experience and education level)

Position Summary:

The Senior Accountant is responsible for managing the organization’s complex financial operations, ensuring accurate reporting, compliance with all federal and state regulations, and strategic financial planning. This role requires exceptional attention to detail, advanced accounting knowledge, and a proactive approach to financial oversight and process improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare, examine, and analyze financial statements for accuracy and compliance with GAAP
• Oversee accounts payable and receivable functions, ensuring timely and accurate processing of invoices
• Reconcile bank accounts, credit card statements, and general ledger balances monthly
• Manage monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes to ensure timely financial reporting
• Prepare and manage annual budgets and financial forecasts; monitor variances and report key findings
• Monitor and track expenses to ensure compliance with company budgets
• File all required tax documents and maintain compliance with federal, state, and local regulations
• Serve as primary liaison during audits; coordinate with external auditors and prepare necessary documentation
• Maintain accurate and well-organized financial records and reports for audit and internal review purposes
• Track, manage, and report on grant spending and restricted fund allocations in accordance with funding requirements
• Identify and implement internal controls to mitigate risk and ensure financial integrity
• Collaborate with executive leadership to provide financial insight to support strategic planning and decision-making
• Perform additional finance and administrative duties as needed

Required Qualifications:

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a closely related field is required
• CPA designation or Master’s degree in Accounting or Finance is strongly preferred

Experience:

• Must have 3+ of professional accounting services.
• Deep knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, internal controls, and audit processes
• Prior experience managing complex budgets, grants, and restricted funds
• Strong background in using accounting software such as quickbooks or similar platforms.

Skills:

• Strong understanding of bookkeeping and financial principles
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial reporting tools
• Strong communication and problem-solving abilities
• Ability to manage multiple deadlines and work both independently and in a team environment
