Care Hero is an AI-powered marketplace connecting families with certified caregivers for personalized home care to empower more seniors to age in place. We're addressing America's eldercare crisis by making quality in-home care accessible and affordable through partnerships with Medicare and health plans. Our mission is to empower seniors to age safely at home while creating sustainable career opportunities for caregivers.
With over 300 certified caregivers in our network and contracts serving 400+ families through Medicare's GUIDE program, we're rapidly scaling our operations to meet the growing demand for home-based senior care.
The Role
We're seeking a passionate Operations Intern to join our team at the Harvard Innovation Lab. This is a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in healthcare operations while contributing to meaningful work that directly impacts seniors and their families.
Key Responsibilities
Family & Caregiver Coordination
- Communicate with families to understand their care needs and preferences
- Conduct interviews with families to assess care requirements and match with appropriate caregivers
- Interview and onboard new caregivers to our platform
- Coordinate care schedules and manage shift assignments
Clinical Support & Care Coordination
- Provide clinical insights and guidance for care delivery based on your healthcare experience
- Assist with care plan development and coordination between families and caregivers
- Help monitor care quality and outcomes
Product & Operations Development
- Collaborate with our founding team to optimize operational workflows
- Provide feedback on our platform and processes from a clinical perspective
- Help develop standard operating procedures for care coordination
- Contribute to building scalable operations that can serve thousands of families
Administrative Support
- Assist with documentation and compliance requirements
- Support billing and insurance coordination processes
- Help maintain accurate records and reporting for our Medicare partnerships
What We're Looking ForRequired Qualifications
- Caregiving Experience: Hands-on experience providing care to seniors or individuals with disabilities
- Educational Background: Currently enrolled in or recently completed a 2-year/community college/certificate program, or attending a federally-designated Minority Serving Institution (MSI) such as UMass Boston, UMass Lowell, or an Historically Black College or University (HBCU)
- Massachusetts Connection: Must be a Massachusetts resident OR attend an accredited college/university in Massachusetts
Preferred Qualifications
- Healthcare Training: CNA certification, nursing training, home health aide certification, or related healthcare credentials
- Clinical Knowledge: Understanding of Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), medication management, and basic health monitoring
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication abilities
- Empathy & Compassion: Natural ability to connect with seniors and their families
- Tech-Savvy: Comfortable using digital platforms and learning new technologies
