Accounting Intern – Asset Management and Accounts Payable
Location: Richland Hills, TX
Pay: $18–$20/hour
Type: Paid Internship | Part-time (20-30 hrs/week)

🔹 About Us
We are a growing manufacturing company managing multiple entities across production, equipment leasing, construction, and real estate. We are seeking a motivated Accounting Intern with a strong interest in asset management, asset purchasing, depreciation, and loan accounting. This role is designed for a detail-oriented individual who wants hands-on training in managing fixed assets and related financial processes across multiple entities. The intern will gain direct exposure to accounting systems, intercompany transactions, and the fundamentals of corporate asset and financing management.
🔹 Who We’re Looking For
You are:
- A junior or senior currently enrolled in a bachelor’s accounting or finance program (or in an MSA program)
- Someone who is local to the area and can continue working part time for us during the school year.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP, charts, formatting, basic analysis)
- Familiar with QuickBooks Desktop (preferred, not required)
- Highly organized, analytical, and able to work independently with mentorship
🔹 Key Responsibilities
The Accounting Intern will be trained and expected to assist in:
Accounts Payable (AP) & Payments: Processing vendor invoices, verifying accuracy, and preparing timely payments.
Reconciliation: Performing monthly bank and account reconciliations, ensuring accuracy of financial records.
Intercompany Billing: Preparing and recording intercompany invoices related to shared assets, equipment leases, and other allocations.
Tax Accruals: Assisting with the calculation and recording of accruals for property taxes and other obligations.
Equipment Accruals: Tracking equipment purchases, setting up accrual entries, and ensuring proper classification under fixed assets.
Insurance Accruals: Supporting the setup and monitoring of insurance-related accruals and allocations.
Depreciation & Loans: Assisting in recording depreciation, maintaining fixed asset schedules, and tracking loan payments including principal vs. interest allocations.
🔹 Learning & Development
The intern will receive training in:
Fixed Asset Management (FAM) software tools
Asset lifecycle accounting, including purchases, disposals, and depreciation
Principles of financing and loan accounting
GAAP-compliant accrual and reconciliation processes
Intercompany accounting for a multi-entity organization
