Public Works Employee – City of Stanley, WI

The City of Stanley is seeking a dependable, skilled individual to join our Department of Public Works (DPW). This hands-on position plays a key role in maintaining and improving our city’s essential infrastructure and services.
You’ll work with a dedicated team responsible for water and wastewater systems, road maintenance, snow removal, heavy equipment operation, and more. If you’re community-minded, mechanically inclined, and eager to grow your skills, we want to hear from you!
Key Responsibilities:
Operate and maintain sanitary sewer and water systems
Perform street repairs, snow removal, and surface treatments
Operate and maintain water and wastewater treatment plants
Safely operate city-owned vehicles and heavy equipment
Respond to city emergencies, including after-hours as needed
Support seasonal clean-up and city-wide maintenance tasks
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent
Valid Wisconsin CDL Class B
Basic mechanical, welding, chemistry, and electrical knowledge
Ability to work independently and communicate effectively
Obtain Basic Water Operator Certification within 2 years
Obtain Basic Wastewater and Collection Systems Certifications within 2 years
Willingness to work weekend/holiday rotations and emergency shifts
Schedule:
Monday–Friday, 7:00 a.m.–3:30 p.m.
Includes rotating weekends and holidays (with paid overtime)
