Criminalistics Laboratory Technician

Positions assigned to this class report to a Supervising Criminalist and are responsible for performing standard test procedures such as chromatography, spectroscopy, extraction of toxicological specimens, immunoassay technology, preparation of reagents, processing and extraction of DNA evidence, identification of biological fluid, and general support for higher-level criminalist classes.
REQUIREMENTS TO QUALIFY: Successful completion of 60 semester units or equivalent quarter units from an accredited college or university, including three (3) semester units or equivalent quarter units in both general chemistry and organic chemistry.
