Human Resources Administrative Assistant

First Federal Bank of Louisiana is currently seeking an Administrative Assistant in the Human Resources Department.  The position is located at the Main Office in Lake Charles, Louisiana.

Position Summary

Performs clerical and administrative services for the Director of Human Resources, as well as the Human Resources Department. Screens telephone calls and visitors. Schedules appointments, meetings and conference calls. Processes letters of technical and confidential nature, files correspondence and performs various clerical duties.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following: 

  • Assists in placing job orders and advertisements; scheduling interviews; administering and scoring tests; checking references and consumer reports; registering and attending career fairs; new hire orientation and new hire paperwork 
  • Enrolls new hires in BAI Learning system; monitors course completion within deadline   
  • Maintains record of personnel changes; assists with various reporting and verification processes
  • Prepares and reviews reports; notifies applicable representative of discrepancies; reviews data entry into HRIS and filing systems to ensure completeness and accuracy
  • Pulls birthday and work anniversary reports monthly; verifies dates and sends electronic correspondence timely
  • Processes verification of employee and unemployment paperwork; assists with appeals
  • Assists in the completion and review of wage and compensation reports, as well as salary surveys
  • Answers routine inquiries from applicants, new hires, and current and previous employees 
  • Prepares new hire orientation packets; sets up and takes down staff room for new hire orientation
  • Arranges travel and lodging for out-of-town applicants, new hires, and/or employees for trainings 
  • Compliance training is assigned to all Bank personnel based on their position with the Bank. Employees are required to complete all assigned training timely and in accordance with Bank policy.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications 

  • High school diploma or equivalent; and
  • A minimum of two (2) years of professional administrative office experience and/or training
  • Previous human resources administration experience preferred
