Accounting Clerk
General Description
An Accounting Clerk is responsible for entering financial transactions using software to record income and expenses, as well as assigning them to the correct accounts.
Skills, Duties, and Responsibilities
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide accounting and bookkeeping services utilizing QuickBooks Online & WinTeam while complying with GAAP standards and regulatory requirements.
- Complete the firm’s billing process with the guidance from Sales Dept which includes new client billing set-up and termination of former clients.
- Record withholding tax deposits and payroll tax returns.
- Record child support withholdings and other garnishments.
- Help create thorough documentation of SOPs.
- Work with accounting team and other departments through full WinTeam implementation.
- Other tasks or duties as assigned by the CFO.
Position Requirements
EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree preferred in accounting or finance.
- This is an entry-level accounting position.
- Proven ability to handle multiple projects at once.
- Ability to learn to read and analyze financial reports.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
This job operates in an inside office environment with average office noise levels. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
This is a largely sedentary role. The ability to lift files, stand, bend, stoop, and walk is required. Requires ability to use a keyboard, monitor, and phone. Requires ability to communicate verbally and electronically with others.
