Tax Intern
Overview:
As a Tax Intern, you will work on sales/use tax and corporate income tax compliances and assist with R&D studies. This is an exciting opportunity to establish and develop your career with a public, multinational company within the rapidly growing semiconductor industry. Our tax team is small but mighty and you'll get exposure to many different areas include income tax provision, GILTI /FDII and foreign tax credit within the tax function.
Duration:
- This position requires being onsite one day a week (Tuesdays) in our Plainview, NY, office.
- Part-time employment during the Fall & Spring semesters (a minimum of 16 hours)
- Part or Full-time employment during the Summer & Winter breaks (24 - 40 hours a week)
Responsibilities:
- Work on sales & use tax compliance such as reconciling the sales and use tax accounts and provide required info to outsourced consultants
- Provide taxability advice to operating units including sales and purchase, R&D teams and assist resolving tax related issues
- Assist with preparing consolidated federal and various state income tax returns and extensions using Thomson’s OneSource RS software
- Assist with preparing various annual information returns
- Assist with R&D study and relevant documentation
- Research income tax/sales and use tax issues
- Assist in defending various federal and state income tax and sales and use tax audits
- Support other projects as they arise
Qualifications:
- At least a sophomore enrolled in an Undergraduate Finance program or working towards a Masters in a Finance program.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Motivated, eager to learn
- Detail oriented and organized
- Proficient in Excel, Word
