Grounds Operation Specialist Summary:

The Grounds Operation Specialist plays a key role in supporting tree care and removal operations. This position assists the tree crew with ground-level tasks, ensures worksite safety, and helps maintain equipment. Ideal candidates are hardworking, safety-focused, and interested in building a career in arboriculture or landscaping.

Duties/ Responsibilities

  • Assist with tree removal, pruning, and cleanup tasks on job sites
  • Operate and maintain ground-level equipment such as chainsaws, chippers, blowers, and ropes
  • Clear brush, wood, and debris from the work area
  • Support climbers and bucket operators by managing rigging and communication
  • Load and unload tools, equipment, and materials
  • Perform daily vehicle and equipment checks to ensure readiness
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and wear appropriate PPE
  • Communicate effectively with crew members and supervisors
  • Provide excellent customer service on residential and commercial properties

Qualifications

  • Valid driver’s license required; CDL preferred.
  • Ability to work in physically demanding conditions, at heights, and in various weather conditions.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety protocols.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well with a team.
  • Previous experience in tree care, landscaping, or a related field is a plus.
  • Availability to work 10-hour days, 40+ hours per week, and travel for extended periods (weather-driven).

Working Conditions:

  • Outdoor work in varying weather and terrain conditions
  • Physically demanding; standing, bending, lifting, and climbing involved
  • Use of safety equipment required (PPE provided)
