Position Title: Research Support--Indigenous Territories, Land Rights, and Conservation in Ecuador's Amazon
Position Summary: This position will support research on Indigenous Territories, Land Rights, and Conservation in Ecuador's Amazon. The successful applicant will conduct secondary source research, e.g., conducting literature review, drafting an annotated bibliography, obtaining geospatial data, and conducting geospatial analysis, and collaborate closely with the position supervisor. The successful applicant will be fluent in Spanish and English, have demonstrated working experience in the Ecuadorian Amazon on topics related to the required research, and have at least an MS degree with applied experience in conservation social science.

Responsibilities/Duties:
• Conduct literature review and annotated bibliography of pertinent scientific and grey literature in English and Spanish. Identify and catalogue pertinent legal documents regarding the status of Indigenous land tenure in the Ecuadorian Amazon.
• Identify, catalogue, and evaluate geospatial datasets related to Indigenous territories, parks and protected areas, and conservation dynamics in the northern Ecuadorian Amazon
• Use GIS platforms (ArcGIS ) and statistical packages to generate geospatial analysis as requested
• Update and maintain a cloud-based database of pertinent literature, datasets, etc.
• Communicate progress and findings through bi-weekly meetings with supervisor
• Other related tasks as requested
Required Qualifications:
• Fluency in English and Spanish
• Familiarity with databases focused on Indigenous land rights and conservation n Latin America
• Ability to read, evaluate, and collate pertinent scientific and grey literature in Spanish and English
• Demonstrated knowledge and grounded experience working in the Ecuadorian Amazon focused on Indigenous rights and conservation social science.
• Master of Science degree

Hourly Pay Rate: $35 per hour
