SI Peer Mentor

The Academic Success Center is currently hiring SI Peer Mentors for the Fall 2025 semester. Applicants must have been successful SI Leaders at Oakland University for at least two semesters and must demonstrate knowledge of the SI program and adherence to the model. 

Duties:

  • Serve as Supplemental Instruction (SI) Leader
  • Model SI sessions and act as a mentor for other SI Leaders
  • Assist in SI Leader trainings and meetings
  • Observe SI sessions and provide meaningful feedback
  • Review and provide feedback on SI session plans and email communications
  • Assist in recruitment and program marketing

Qualifications:

  • Must be a currently enrolled OU student in a degree seeking program
  • Minimum 3.7 GPA (A-) in the course(s) you serve as SI Leader
  • Demonstrated exceptional SI planning and facilitation skills
  • Demonstrated exceptional leadership skills
  • Strong organization and time management skills
  • Must be a positive role model and empathetic towards people
  • Must be able to participate in training prior to the SI Leader training.
