Commercial Property and Casualty Insurance Internship
We are currently looking to fill an internship role in our Commercial Property and Casualty department.
Goals:
- Gain a working understanding of the insurance industry as a whole and how Louisiana market conditions affect the industry
- Gain initial competency in industry specific software
- Develop the soft skills necessary to interact daily with both customers and insurance carriers
- Learn how to create, edit and analyze industry specific documentation (Acord forms, Certificates of Insurance, etc.)
- Prepare for the Louisiana State Property and Casualty Certification Exam
Responsibilities:
- Provide Excellent Customer Service: Effectively communicate directly with customers and maintain customer satisfaction
- Communicate directly with Insurance Carriers
- Process customer policies (both new business and renewals)
- Support Account Executives in daily operations
- Problem-solve complex insurance coverage scenarios
Requirements:
- Strong communication skills and attention to detail
- Familiarity with computer systems
- Positive attitude, ability to work in collaborative environment
- Interest in developing a career in insurance
- 3.0+ GPA
Schedule:
- Monday to Friday, 20-30 hours per week; hours are flexible to accommodate classes
Ability to commute/relocate:
- Shreveport, LA 71101: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (preferred)
Education:
- Currently enrolled in Bachelor’s Degree or Professional Designation Program
