Business Development Associate
About Us
At The Heart Led Entrepreneur, we help founders, early employees, and mission-driven companies grow with clarity, alignment, and integrity. We believe profitability and purpose aren’t at odds—and that thriving businesses start with thriving humans.
We offer executive coaching, team coaching, and fractional strategy that combine business with deep personal transformation.
About the Role
We're seeking a part-time (option for full-time if you want!) Business Development Intern to help us grow our B2B partnerships—especially with VCs, startup accelerators, and purpose-driven companies. You’ll help shape how organizations think about founder wellbeing, strategic clarity, and sustainable leadership.
This is a high-impact role with lots of room for creativity, systems thinking, and real-world exposure to business strategy, partnerships, and community-led growth.
Key Responsibilities
Research aligned VC firms, accelerators, and early-stage startups for potential collaboration
Identify and prioritize partnership opportunities (e.g. workshops, founder intensives, facilitated offsites)
Help build decks, one-pagers, and turn ideas into frameworks that communicate our value
Draft and send outreach emails; support follow-up communications and partnership pipelines
Support special projects (e.g. founder wellbeing framework, pilot programs with portfolio companies)
Bonus: If you're excited to co-create backend systems, playbooks, or repeatable frameworks to support our growth—there’s room to lead and build here!
Who You Are
Current MBA student or potentially rising senior with an interest in startups, coaching, impact, or founder wellbeing
Passionate about building businesses that integrate profits and purpose
Self-starter who thrives in ambiguity and can own projects from idea to execution
Clear, kind communicator (written + verbal) with an eye for brand and voice
Bonus if you’ve worked at a startup, accelerator, VC fund, or social impact org
Skills & Tools We’d Love You to Have
Strong research and synthesis skills
Comfort with tools like Notion, Airtable, Google Suite, LinkedIn, and Canva
Experience in biz dev, partnerships, or sales a plus
Bonus: Interest or experience in building backend systems, playbooks, or frameworks for scale
Ability to write compelling outreach messages and build partner-friendly collateral
Why This Role Might Be a Fit
You love mission-driven businesses and would love to learn more about the profits x purpose framework. You can co-create your own role, using this as a springboard for a future Chief of Staff role. If you're excited to help shape a new category of leadership that centers both impact and income, please reach out!
