Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Production Lead to oversee daily operations at our small-scale knitting mill. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience operating Shima Seiki knitting machines and a strong understanding of knitting processes, quality standards, and team leadership within a cashmere production environment. This role is essential in ensuring efficient production, high-quality output, and a safe working environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, organize, and coordinate daily production schedules to meet orders and quality requirements.
  • Operate and troubleshoot Shima Seiki knitting machines to optimize performance and resolve issues quickly.
  • Collaborate with management on resource allocation, including labor, materials, and equipment.
  • Oversee the maintenance and proper functioning of all knitting machinery.
  • Ensure production processes adhere to quality standards, providing training on Quality GLC standards to team members.
  • Monitor and manage inventory of raw materials, finished goods, and work-in-progress inventory.
  • Supervise finishing and washing processes to deliver high-quality products.
  • Create and update technical manuals, procedures, and tech packs as needed.
  • Lead, motivate, and develop a small team, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
  • Implement safety protocols and ensure all personnel follow safety standards.
  • Seek continuous process improvements and identify cost-saving opportunities.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Proven hands-on experience operating Shima Seiki knitting machines, especially in a cashmere or luxury textiles setting.
  • Strong knowledge of knitting processes, machinery maintenance, and troubleshooting.
  • Prior experience in small manufacturing or textile production management.
  • Leadership skills with the ability to train and motivate staff.
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities.
  • Knowledge of quality control standards relevant to cashmere or similar textiles.
  • Commitment to safety and maintaining a safe work environment.
  • Good communication skills and a team-oriented attitude.
