On-Campus ACA Variable Hours

JOB SUMMARY: This position is responsible for preforming basic GIS tasks of a group of GIS professionals and watershed scientists in the Riverscapes Assessment & Monitoring (RAM) Lab.

. Successful performance will ensure that projects are completed on-time with a high level of organization and accuracy.

MAJOR DUTIES:

• Uses GIS data and ArcGIS software to perform various tasks for a wide range of on-going projects.

• Duties include: spatial data capture (internet-based), data organization/management, data manipulation, and basic spatial data analysis.

  • Potential for field data collection.

• Keeps immediate supervisor informed concerning work progress including present and potential work problems. Performs other related duties as assigned

KNOWLEDGE & COMMITMENT REQUIRED FOR THE POSITION:

• Knowledge of Geographic Information Systems.

• Experience using ESRI mapping software.

• Advanced skills in operating a computer using standard or customized software applications.

• Frequent interruptions and deadlines contribute to the complexity of the work.

• This is a performance-oriented workplace. It is not enough just to show up to work. We expect our employees to be activity involved in project work the entire time they are here.
