HR/Administrative Intern

Position:                       HR/Administrative Intern

Reports to:                   HR Generalist

SUMMARY: 

The Hudson Public Schools Administrative office is seeking a part time human resources/administrative intern to assist the human resources and finance departments with various clerical tasks. This temporary role is for a current undergraduate student with work dates running from approximately early June through end of August for 15-20 hours/week (2 days/week). The HR/Administrative intern will provide valuable support in carrying out the day-to-day HR work. 

 

The Hudson Public Schools is looking to build and further relationships with higher education organizations and give current students the chance to further their education, build relationships, and gain new work experiences in school administration. 

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • General clerical support
  • Updating excel sheets/ data entry
  • HR/Payroll system updates
  • Maintaining records and personnel files including scanning and filing of documents.
  • Ability to maintain high levels of confidentiality.
  • Prepare and support all aspects of onboarding/offboarding employees.
  • Assisting with recruitment needs and planning assistance with employee events.
  • Develop and Build relationships with Higher Education programs
  • Assist with projects in HR and any other administrative departments.
  • Any other duties assigned by the Human resources department

 

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma/GED required
  • Must be currently enrolled in college at the sophomore, junior, or senior level.
  • Organizational, communication, problem solving skills
  • General computer skills
  • Successful completion of Criminal Records Check (CORI), and fingerprints

 

Rate of Pay: 

  • $20.00/hour

 

While performing duties of this job, the employee may often remain in a stationary position for considerable periods of time. The employee will have ample periods of standing and may be required to traverse throughout the building. The employee must frequently use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and use hand strength to grasp tools. Frequently operates a computer and other office productivity machinery (i.e., calculator, copy machine, and computer printer). Physical abilities may also include lifting/carrying/pushing/pulling, stooping/crouching, reaching/handling, talking/hearing conversations, and near/far visual acuity/depth perception/color vision/field. Ability must be able to lift and/or push and pull 15 to 20lbs for short periods, and walk up and down stairs several times a day. The employee must be able to communicate effectively with students, staff members, and the public in person and on the telephone.
