Laboratory Specialist

Enterprise Specialty Products, Inc. (ESP) is looking to add a Laboratory Specialist to our growing team. With over 175 years of combined experience in foam control products, ESP is committed to providing customers with the highest quality products and customer service. We are a chemical manufacturing facility located in Laurens, SC, and we specialize in foam control technology.

This is a full-time, on-site, 1st shift, 8:00 am – 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday position. Potential travel for field test trials as well as market trade shows once settled and fully trained. 

The Laboratory Specialist provides technical support and expertise to customers, the sales team, and internal departments related to the company’s products. This role ensures product performance, helps troubleshoot issues, and supports product development, application, and optimization to meet customer needs and regulatory requirements. This role also involves conducting lab work, analyzing data, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to bring innovative solutions from concept to commercialization.

Responsibilities:
- Work directly with both the Research and Development and Technical Services departments in the development and refinement of new and old defoamer/antifoam products
- Asked to use analytical chemistry test procedures to identify new potential raw materials
- Learn Quality Control/Quality Assurance testing procedures for analyzing raw materials and finished goods
- Offer technical assistance to customers, both in person and via phone or email
- Stay up to date with industry trends, regulatory requirements, and technological advancements
- Interpret, record and report results on tests conducted
- Ability to work independently while time-managing but also a work in a team environment – must be a self-starter
- Assist with resolving routine customer and production problems
- Ability to safely utilize basic lab equipment and chemicals
- Any additional tasks assigned by your supervisor

Requirements:
- High School Diploma required
- Background in chemistry, related science, or mathematics required
- 1+ years of experience in a related manufacturing environment preferred
- Excellent problem solving skills and attention to detail are a must
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills and commitment to providing a high standard of quality work
- Understanding of chemical processes, product formulation, and application
