Assistant Project Manager – Commercial Construction – Entry Level

At TMS Construction, Inc., we believe great buildings begin with great people. We’re looking for a driven and detail-oriented Assistant Project Manager to support the successful delivery of our commercial construction projects.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with 1–2 years of experience or a recent construction management graduate who’s ready to jumpstart their career and grow into a leadership role. You’ll work side-by-side with experienced Project Managers and Superintendents, gaining valuable hands-on experience and playing a key part in keeping our projects on time and on budget.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Support Project Execution: Assist in planning and managing project schedules, budgets, and resources to ensure smooth and timely completion.
  • Coordinate with Teams: Communicate with subcontractors, vendors, and field personnel to track progress and resolve issues as they arise.
  • Document Management: Help manage project documentation such as contracts, submittals, RFIs, change orders, and meeting minutes.
  • Budget + Cost Tracking: Assist with tracking job costs, preparing billing documentation, and ensuring all financial records are current and accurate.
  • Field Support: Participate in site walks, safety meetings, and coordination efforts to ensure field operations align with project goals.
  • Problem-Solve + Learn: Be proactive in identifying challenges, learning from your team, and contributing ideas that improve efficiency and collaboration.

What We’re Looking For

  • Recent college grad or 1–2 years of experience in construction project support or a related field
  • Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related discipline preferred
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Eagerness to learn and grow in a fast-paced construction environment
  • A team mindset and a passion for building better—from the ground up
