(#32437) Analyst, IT FinOps
The Data Analyst will work closely with the Data Engineering team, the Data Analytics team, Finance and the Cloud Business Office to develop analytic tools and financial models that will influence effective decision-making, forecasting cloud spend, and identifying cost optimization opportunities. As the Data Analyst, you will drive comprehensive financial planning, reporting, cost optimization, forecasting and analysis to drive business insight to support the Company's strategic goals.
The Data Analyst will:
- Examine the cloud monthly budget and forecast process in managing consumption, chargebacks, show back, and savings in collaboration with Cloud Business Office, Finance, and technical owners Monitor cloud consumption at the account level to detect, investigate, and escalate anomalies and unplanned spikes
- Analyze, report, and produce meaningful insights from large raw datasets within cloud billing and usage tools
- Design, develop, and maintain reports and KPIs that provide detailed usage statistics of resources across the multi cloud landscape
- Create and maintain month-end and quarter-end cloud consumption reports and integrates unit cost
- Analyze spend trends, opportunities for savings, and advise internal customers with specific recommendations for improvement
- Perform other related duties as required and assigned
- Demonstrate behaviors which are aligned with the organization’s desired culture and values
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets
What You’ll Bring:
- Proficiency in analyzing large datasets
- Proficiency with SQL dialects such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, MSSQL
- Strong skill in business intelligence tools such as Tableau, PowerBI, or Looker
- Light to moderate skills with Python or R
- AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner certification required within first 90 days of employment with Pennymac
Nice To Have:
- Experience using AWS Cost Explorer and other AWS Cost Management tools
- Experience with AWS services
- Experience with cloud billing systems
