Maintenance Summer Worker
The Maintenance Summer Worker provides seasonal support to maintenance operations by performing a wide range of physical labor and support tasks, both indoors and outdoors. This role involves assisting full-time staff in activities such as road patching, sign installation, vegetation control, cleaning bridges, and shop maintenance. The worker may also help fabricate and install highway signs and is expected to follow safety protocols and complete work as assigned.
Applicants must be at least 18 years of age and possess a valid Minnesota driver’s license with proof of insurance. While the position is entry-level, it requires physical endurance, as workers must lift and carry materials up to 50 pounds and operate in a variety of environmental conditions. Basic familiarity with hand tools, mobile devices, and safe work practices is beneficial.
Daily responsibilities involve working closely with County staff and other team members to complete maintenance tasks that support the safety and functionality of roads and public infrastructure. The position serves as an introduction to public works and offers hands-on experience in a fast-paced, physically active setting.
