Small Business Office Intern
Calling all students!
This intern will support efforts to strengthen the local entrepreneurial ecosystem by assisting with research, event coordination, program evaluation, and content development. Key responsibilities include conducting ecosystem analysis to identify resource gaps, coordinating logistics for events and workshops, and collaborating with internal teams to monitor and evaluate business support programs. The intern will also assist in creating outreach materials, resource guides, and surveys to assess entrepreneurial needs, as well as contribute to newsletters and reports focused on ecosystem development.

Compensation: $15.03/hr.
Position Summary & Responsibilities:
The Small Business Office Intern will support data tracking and impact analysis, coordinate events and engage stakeholders, conduct ecosystem research and resource mapping, and assist with entrepreneurial outreach and resource development to strengthen small business support efforts.
Position Responsibilities:
Ecosystem Research & Resource Mapping
- Assist in conducting ecosystem analysis to identify gaps in small business resources and areas where additional support is needed.
- Compile reports and presentations that provide insights into business growth trends, access-to-capital challenges, and policy recommendations.
Event Coordination & Stakeholder Engagement
- Coordinate event logistics, including scheduling, venue setup, speaker coordination and participant engagement.
- Help track event participation and develop follow-up engagement strategies to ensure long-term connections with entrepreneurs and business support organizations.
Data Tracking & Impact Analysis
- Work with internal teams to ensure business support programs are effectively monitored and evaluated.
- Support the creation of impact reports and data visualizations that highlight Kansas’s entrepreneurial ecosystem trends.
Entrepreneurial Community Outreach & Resource Development
- Assist in creating outreach materials, resource guides and business development toolkits for entrepreneurs and ESOs.
- Develop surveys and feedback forms to measure entrepreneurial needs and program effectiveness.
- Support content development for ecosystem-focused newsletters, reports and informational materials.
Intern Qualifications:
- Applicant should be enrolled at an accredited college or university pursuing an undergraduate degree in economic development, public administration, business, entrepreneurship, or community development.
- Recent graduates are also encouraged to apply, as well as those currently pursuing an advanced degree.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in event coordination, data tracking, business outreach, or research projects is a plus.
- Strong research and data analysis skills, with the ability to synthesize information into actionable insights.
- Experience with event planning and stakeholder engagement
