Requirements / Qualifications
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE Any combination equivalent to:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in accounting, business administration or a related field and
- Experience: Four years of responsible accounting, budgeting and auditing experience in an educational organization or educationally related auditing agency.

THE POSITION The Business, Facilities, & Operations Division is now accepting applications for Budget Analyst. Under the general direction of the Director III - Internal Business Services, serves in a lead capacity to coordinate and plan the development, allocation, and reporting of complex budgetary and financial activities for the SCCOE’s budget; advises, manages, directs, supervises and serves as expert resource on budgeting and attendance accounting; prepares, reviews, analyzes, and audits a wide variety of financial reports, including program budgets, Local Control Funding Formula (LCFF) and other revenue projections, attendance reports, year-end closing transfers and reports; supervises and evaluates the performance of assigned personnel. The ideal candidate for this position will possess extensive experience managing large-scale budgets, performing complex data analyses and long-term forecasting, and reviewing and approving grant-related budget revisions. Prior experience in the public sector is required, with preference for those who have worked within a local educational agency (LEA) or county office of education (COE). This position is in-person, full-time, and has a work year of 12 months, 5 days, 8 hours per day. Leadership team members are eligible to receive a $2,500 annual stipend for a master’s degree and a $2,500 additional stipend for a doctorate, provide official documentation is submitted. EXAMINATION PROCEDURES

- Those who pass the written exam will be invited to participate in an oral examination with subject matter experts, tentatively scheduled for TBD.
- Based on the final scores of qualified candidates, Classified Personnel Services will establish a ranked candidate list.
- Selected candidates from the list will be invited to a second interview with the hiring authorities, tentatively scheduled for TBD.
- Second interviews may be held in-person.
