HR Specialist

GENERAL SUMMARY

Ciera Bank has been serving Texas Communities since 1890, and we now have 8 locations. We are seeking to fill the position of HR Specialist at our Fort Worth or Graham location; however the location is flexible for the right candidate.  The primary focus of this role is full-cycle recruitment, from sourcing and screening candidates through end-to-end onboarding and orientation. The HR Specialist position also plays a key role in enhancing the employee experience through engagement, connection, and recognition initiatives. In addition, the HR Specialist will provide administrative support across various areas of human resources.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (of HR Specialist)

  • Coordinates recruitment and selection processes. Creates, maintains, and tracks job requisitions within the recruiting and applicant tracking software.
  • Works with hiring managers to ensure Job Descriptions are updated.
  • Responsible for posting jobs and outreach to the necessary organizations; Ensure Affirmative Action outreach compliance.
  • Communicates with authorized staffing agencies; sources candidates for open positions; schedules, coordinates, and conducts screening phone interviews, corresponds with applicants; conducts pre-employment assessments and reference checks.
  • Maintains the Applicant Tracking Software, including maintaining annual logs for internal job postings, hires, terminations, separations, and promotions for completion of the annual Affirmative Action Plan (AAP). Works with HR Manager to ensure full compliance with all aspects required of a federal contractor.
  • Welcomes newly hired employees managing the end-to-end onboarding process, including new hire orientation, explanation of company policies, practices, and procedures and ensuring a great experience for new employees and a smooth start into their roles.
  • Maintains strong communication with Hiring Managers and candidates throughout the onboarding process; administers onboarding surveys.
  • Ensures new hires have technical assistance to properly set up their hardware/software and distribute manuals, passwords, and guidelines as needed.
  • Acts as first point of contact for candidates and helps them get introduced to various contacts within the bank-including compliance, Banktel, payroll.
  • Provides new hires with various tools to get them assimilated into the bank.
  • Willing to travel to all bank locations to onboard new hires.
  • Maintains accurate I-9 record keeping.
  • Manages engagement calendar and coordinates engagement activities for all locations.
  • Oversees engagement channel to ensure updated communication and proper use of the channel.
  • Responsible for ordering company promotional items and supplies used for engagement, new hire onboardings, etc.
  • Maintain and coordinate the bi-annual company apparel orders.
  • Continues to improve SOPs for recruiting and onboarding processes.
  • Assists HR Manager with development and coordination of learning and development programs.
  • Represents the Company at job fairs and assists with recruiting for specific areas of the business.
  • Performs other duties/tasks as assigned.

 

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES (of HR Specialist)

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Undergraduate degree in a business-related field preferred.
  • At least 2 years’ professional experience in HR related field preferred.
     
  • Experience working with UKG system a plus.
  • Strong skills in LinkedIn and other social media platforms preferred.
  • Prior experience in HR/Recruiting/Onboarding role preferred.
  • Advanced PC skills including proficient working knowledge of Microsoft Office Word, Excel, Adobe, Outlook and Internet Explorer; tech savvy.
  • Must possess strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Motivated self-starter with strong organizational skills and time management skills.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Ability to multi-task in demanding environment.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Able to deliver effective results and meet deadlines.
  • Must be able to maintain discretion and confidentiality at all times.
  • Able to travel to all bank locations to onboard new hires.
  • Excellent interviewing skills a plus.

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS (of HR Specialist)

Work involves standing and walking for brief periods of time, but most duties are performed from a seated position. Work may include occasional pushing, pulling, or carrying objects weighing up to 20 pounds such as files, documents, and computer printouts. Work normally requires finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination to operate computer keyboard at an advanced skill level. Deadlines, disgruntled employees, workloads during peak periods and pressure to achieve goals may cause increased stress levels.

 

 

 

WORKING RELATIONSHIPS/CONTACTS (of HR Specialist)

  • Internal – Extensive contact with employees and hiring managers throughout the Bank regarding staffing needs.
  • External – Extensive contact with employment candidates regarding employment opportunities and hiring policies. Some travel to other locations may be required.

ACCOUNTABILITY (of HR Specialist)

This position is responsible for being the effective assistant to the Human Resources Manager, which usually involves working with internally sensitive information, and for achieving individual production goals.
